Q. Who is required to have an alcohol awareness card? A. Anyone who serves or sells alcohol, or who is employed as a security guard at an alcohol serving establishment, in Clark or Washoe Counties. Q. What is the cost of the online registration? A. $25 for everything. Q. Where can I pick up my alcohol awareness card when I’m finished with the online course? A. We have 5 locations so we are never more than a 10 minute drive away. Please see our location page. Q. What are the age requirements to obtain an alcohol awareness card? A. 16 year old if you work in a grocery store selling packaged alcohol. All others 21 years old. Q. What is your refund policy? A. The online registration is fully refundable within 30 days of purchase, as long as you did not pick up your card. Q. Do I have to take a test? A. Yes, after completing the online safety video, you are required to take a test in-person at one of our locations. Q. How long is the test and what format is it? A. The test if 20 multiple choice questions. It usually takes 10 minutes. Q. Are alcohol awareness cards required to have photos on them? A. No. Nevada law does not require photos on cards. Q. TAM of Nevada’s web site states “more employers recommend TAM”. A. There is no research provided to confirm this. This is just their opinion. Q. After completing the online video, how soon can I come in to pick up my card? A. Immediately. Same day if you like! Q. Does the online certificate I received ever expire? A. No Q. How long is the online video? A. 3 hours Q. If I need a renewal, is the process quicker? A. As of 2007, there are no longer shorter renewal classes. You need to redo the entire process. Q. How long is an alcohol awareness card valid? A. 4 years.
